Dubrovnik nightlife: where to go and where to skip
Dubrovnik isn’t a clubbing city — it's a slow-drink, cliff-top-bar, one-good-cocktail-at-Buža kind of night, with 3 or 4 late spots for after midnight.

The cliff bars: Buža I and II
Two bars drilled into the south wall of the Old Town, accessed through a hole marked 'cold drinks' — Buža I is the smaller original, Buža II is bigger and better organised. Beer $6, cocktails $12, sunset over the open Adriatic is included. Get there by 6:30pm in summer to grab a rock ledge. Cash only. This is the one bar experience everyone in Dubrovnik should have; if you do nothing else at night, do this.
Wine bars, jazz, and cocktails
D’Vino on Palmotićeva does 60+ Croatian wines by the glass, tastings from $18. Malvasija on Miha Pracata is smaller and better if you want a conversation with the owner. For cocktails, Bar Above Five on the roof of Restaurant 360 is spectacular and expensive ($15+). Troubadour on Bunićeva poljana has live jazz most nights in summer, free entry, drinks $8-10. Skip anything with 'Irish pub' in the name.
Late night and clubs
Culture Club Revelin, inside Fort Revelin at the eastern edge of the Old Town, is the main club — international DJs, opens midnight to 6am, $25-40 door. It's genuine and the setting is unbeatable but crowds skew 20-something and touristy. Banje Beach Club by the Ploče beach does dancing under the stars with a slightly older crowd, $20 door. Lazareti, in the old quarantine buildings, hosts alternative electronic nights and is where locals actually go — check listings on their Facebook page.
What to skip
Any bar with a tout outside handing out shot vouchers. Any 'Game of Thrones' themed cocktail bar. Prijeko street after 10pm — it's all recycled tourist menus. And the marina bars in Gruž unless you’re already there — they’re fine but nothing you can’t do better inside the walls or in Lapad.
